Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve between 1.00pm-6.30pm: Calls will be diverted to Wigan GP Alliance*

Please note that if you ring the surgery between 1.00pm-6.30pm on Monday 24th December and Monday 31st December your call will automatically be diverted to the GP Alliance where you will be able to obtain a GP appointment if needed, during these hours, and be seen in one of the hubs located in the Wigan Borough. They will also provide GP visits where clinically appropriate.

When the Surgery is Closed

If you require urgent medical assistance that cannot wait until the surgery re-opens, please ring 111.  Calls to NHS111 are free from both landlines and mobiles.  If you have a life threatening medical emergency, please ring 999 immediately.  Alternatively, you can also contact Wigan GP Alliance, which runs the GP Extended Hours Service on 01942 482848, and ask to be seen in one of their local hubs.  The phone line is open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Sunday.  Routine appointments are available with GPs, Nurses and HCAs and you can be seen between the hours of 6.30pm to 8.00pm Monday-Friday, 10.00am-4.00pm Saturday-Sunday and bank holidays.

Prescription Collection

If you would like your prescription to be sent electronically to a pharmacy, so that you don’t have to come to the practice to collect it, please let reception know and we will arrange for this to be done. You can then collect your medication directly from the pharmacy or make arrangements directly with the pharmacy staff to deliver your medication to you.   (Please note that Controlled Drugs are excluded from this service).
